What a salicylic acid cleanser does?

Instead of a physical exfoliation, like a scrub, that buffs away dead skin, the salicylic acid dissolves and loosens cells. It deep cleanses to minimize excess oil, ingrown hairs, and other blemishes. It neutralizes breakout-causing bacteria while cleansing pores, reducing inflammation and boosting cell turnover rate to heal skin more quickly. And, believe it or not, despite the fact that it’s a skin care superpower, salicylic acid is gentle on sensitive and compromised skin types, making it a great choice for anyone seeking a clear and clean complexion. See: Green Tea Citrus Cleanser or Salicylic Gel Cleanser. I would recommend use of 3-5 nights a week depending on your sensitivity.

There are so many serums out there, why Vitamin C?

Vitamin C helps with pretty much everything! It’s necessary for growth of collagen, aids compromised skin, brightens the skin, helps even out skin tone, protects against UV rays, pollution, and free radicals.
Free radicals are produced from pollution, cigarette smoke, radiation, medication. When an overload of free radicals cannot gradually be destroyed, their accumulation in the body generates a phenomenon called oxidative stress. This process plays a major part in the development of chronic and degenerative illness such as cancer, autoimmune disorders, aging, cataract, rheumatoid arthritis, cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases.

Colloidal silver for the skin?

It’s so interesting, I’m obsessed! Colloidal silver is tiny, charged silver particles suspended in a solution that react to the environment and have antimicrobial properties. It’s also why colloidal silver is still infused into band aids and wound treatments in high-tech hospitals, and NASA scientists use it to purify water in outer space. It calms the skin by reducing inflammation and fights bacteria without destroying the natural flora of your skin. It also decreases the irritating effects caused by oxidative stress and stimulates skin elasticity. Found in: Colloidal Silver Mist

Do you need both a serum and a moisturizer?

Of course! They are formulated differently.  Serums are light so they can reach deeper in the skin.  Designed to be highly concentrated formulas that deliver targeted active ingredients to address your specific skin concerns. The most important function of your moisturizer is to keep your skin hydrated and protect your skin’s barrier. Without this extra layer, your skin’s hydration levels are prone to evaporating and leaving your skin dry.

Is eye cream a priorty?

Most definitely! The skin under your eye is like tissue paper, which is why it’s usually the first to show signs of aging. Eye cream contain more oil than a regular facial lotion, and they have a lot of active ingredients aimed at the problems we see around the eyes. Intensive Eye Repair helps Soothe and tone, brighten the skin and minimize inflammation, supports the visible reduction of dark circles and puffiness. Helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles around eyes. Promotes cell renewal, leading to younger looking skin.

Hylaronic acid, what’s the big deal?

Hyaluronic acid is a sugar found naturally in our skin that holds water and helps keep it hydrated and plump. It holds a thousand times its weight in water to not only retain all that moisture in our skin and joints, but also prevent all that moisture from evaporating in the air.
It helps to bind water to collagen, trapping it in the skin, so that skin can appear plumper, dewier, and more hydrated, Just like collagen and elastin, the amount of naturally-occurring hyaluronic acid in our bodies decreases as we get older.
All Hylunia products are formulated with hylaluronic acid.

Why is toner important?

Our skin is naturally acidic, typically with a pH balance of between five and six (on a scale from 0 to 14). But that balance can get out of whack after cleansing due to the alkaline nature of soap. When this happens, your skin needs to work overtime to return to its normal levels (and that may result in oil), but using a toner can help restore this balance quickly. Toners can help close pores and tighten cell gaps after cleansing, reducing the penetration of impurities and environmental contaminants into the skin. It can even protect and remove chlorine and minerals present in tap water.

Why can’t I just use my handy soap or body wash?

Unfortunately I hear this too often. This is a big mistake. Soap is very alkaline, which increases the pH of the skin, making it vulnerable. It is also a harsh surfactant which will removes good lipids as well as dirt and sebum.  This causes the breakdown of the skin's natural moisture barrier which results in water passing out of the skin faster, making it severely dry.  It then lets irritants, allergens, and unfriendly micro-organisms into the skin which can provoke inflammation and the ultimate breakdown of our natural key structural proteins and water-binding hyaluronic acid. Keeping your skin hydrated is essential to its health and beauty. Using a mild, moisturizing cleanser for daily use can help to preserve skin's natural moisture. See: Facial cleansing gel
